Minnesota Man Sentenced for Selling Heroin


A Minneapolis man been sentenced for selling heroin on the White Earth Reservation.

According to United States Attorney Erica H. MacDonald, Steven Mitchell Gant, 38, was sentenced to 90 months in prison for conspiring to distribute heroin. Gant entered a plea of guilty on January 16th, was sentenced yesterday before Senior Judge Michael J. Davis in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis.

According to court documents, Gant conspired with another individual from October 2017 through February 20th, 2018, to distribute heroin on the White Earth Indian Reservation and the surrounding communities. Officials say the heroin was obtained from a source in Texas and then transported to Gant in Minnesota. Gant has admitted to traveling to the White Earth Indian Reservation to sell heroin approximately 25 times.

Gant was also sentenced to five years of supervised release following his incarceration.
