The state Department of Agriculture is warning Minnesotans of a bread crumbs recall.
According to a release from the Department of Ag, ICCO Cheese Company Incorporated is recalling Gia Russa Bread Crumbs, following the discovery of undeclared walnuts and pecans.
The “Gia Russa Whole Grain Bread Crumbs Unseasoned,” and “Gia Russa Whole Grain Bread Crumbs Italian Seasoned” were distributed nationally in ten ounce packages and have the “best by” dates of 08/21/2019, 09/21/2019, 10/04/2019, 11/09/2019, 11/12/2019, 12/05/2019, with UPC codes 0-26825-01853-2, and 0-26825-01854-9.
The recall was triggered by a consumer complaint. There has been one reported allergic reaction to date, associated with the consumption of the Whole Grain Bread Crumbs. The presence of walnuts and pecans was confirmed in the product through third-party laboratory testing.
