2 Injured Friday Night in 2 Vehicle Accident


Two people were injured in a two vehicle accident Friday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Lucas Anthony Teiken, 27, of Waubun was injured when the 2016 Ford Pickup he was driving was struck by a 2001 Buick Park Avenue driven by Eric Ronald Halvorson, 38, of Crookston.

According to the State Patrol report, the Buick went through a stop sign and struck the Ford pickup on the drivers side rear quarter panel, on a portion of County Road 49. Halvorson and Teiken suffered injuries troopers at the scene describe as non- life threatening. A passenger in the Halvorson vehicle, Piper Kahlstorf, of Crookston, suffered no apparent injury. Road conditions were listed as dry and all were wearing seat-belts at the time of the accident, reported just before 10:30PM

According to the State Patrol report, it is unknown if either driver was consuming alcohol prior to the accident.

The State patrol was assisted by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Fertile EMS, Red Lake EMS, and the Mentor Fire Department.
