Officials in Pennington County have been dealing with a fine imposed by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture over some damaged crops.
County Engineer Mike Flaagan says a there was a damage claim on a crop on the County’s east side. The fine was levied against the County after some crops were reportedly damaged by roadside spraying of herbicide, carried by wind.
Flaagan says he had discussions with the Department of Ag over the fall and winter, concerning the damage, caused by road-side spraying of the herbicide and the $750 fine.
Commissioners plan to review the Department of Ag claim against the County and take it up at a future meeting.
