Northland Community & Technical College has named Jeremy Richardson as the new Pioneers Head Football Coach, becoming the eleventh head coach in the history of the program. Richardson joins the Pioneers from Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, TX, where he served as assistant athletic director.
“We have found someone with great character and a coach who has extensive knowledge of NJCAA Division III football,” shares Northland Athletic Director Jim Retka. “Jeremy has proven himself to be a tremendous leader and a skilled communicator. We couldn’t have asked for a better role model for the athletes in our program. We are excited to welcome him to the Northland family.”
With over 11 years of coaching experience, Richardson has a vast knowledge of Division III athletics, particularly at two-year institutions. Prior to his position at Trinity Valley Community College, Richardson was an offensive line coach at Texas College in Tyler, TX, Head Football Coach for Joliet Junior College in Joliet, IL, and held a coaching internship position with the Minnesota Vikings.
Richardson looks forward to building on an already successful Pioneer football program, “I am very excited about the opportunity to lead Northland’s football program,” expressed Richardson. “I want to step up and keep the winning record going,” continued Richardson, “First of all we must win at home, then we can focus on competing for the conference title, receiving a bowl game invite and giving the Pioneers their first bowl win.”
A native of Bloomington, IL, Richardson received his Bachelor’s Degree from Aurora University and holds a Master’s Degree from Northern Michigan University.
