The 2019 garbage bags for TRF residents will be handed out daily at the Public Works Facility through Friday, June 7th from 7am-5pm. This garbage bag hand-out is for all city residents who own or rent.  Apartment residents who use a dumpster are not required to use city bags.

Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

Enjoy the music this summer every Thursday night at 7pm at the Gazebo in the Floyd B. Olson Park.  Entertainment on June 6th will be provided by The Jensen Sisters.

The American Cancer Society is sponsoring the 2019 Relay for Life of Marshall and Pennington Counties on Friday, June 7th from 5pm-midnight at the Pennington County Fairgrounds in Thief River Falls.  This will be a fun-filled event that will celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back against the disease.  The event will also include entertainment, a silent auction, food and games, touching ceremonies, and stories of inspiration.  There is something for everyone at Relay for Life!  For more information go to or call Amber Holten at 689-9405.

The Northwest Chapter of ABATE is having their 31st Annual Spring Ride-In from June 7th-9th at the St. Hilaire Municipal Park.  The cost is $40 for a weekend pass and $30 after 12 noon on Saturday.  You’ll find free primitive camping, showers, bathrooms and live music and bon fire both nights, plus food, beer and games.

There will be a “Dirty Thirty + 2 ATV Run” on Saturday, June 8th at the Rainbow Club in Strandquist.  Registration starts at 10am, with the cost at $25 per rider.  Lunch follows the ride and prizes will be awarded for best decorated ATV and best beach costume.  Proceeds to benefit “The Hand I was Dealt”, cancer is a beach, let’s lei it to rest!

Guest speaker Pastor Marcel Ternival of Haiti will be at the Thief River Falls Evangelical Covenant Church on Sunday, June 9th at 6:30pm with a message of hope and revival; everyone is welcome!

There will be a Pickleball Open House for seniors 55 and older on Tuesday, June 11th from 9:30am-11:30am at the National Guard Armory in Thief River Falls-use the back door.  Try out the available equipment or just come and watch.

St. Bernard’s Church in Thief River Falls is sponsoring a Blood Drive on Tuesday, June 11th from 12:15-6pm and on Wednesday, June 12th from 8am-12:30pm in the church’s parish hall.  If you would like an appointment, call Theresa Vanyo at 681-2208.

The Thief River Falls Golden Pioneers Club is looking for new members; they meet each Tuesday morning at the River Walk Public House.  The club donates money each year to various local organizations and members volunteer with different community activities.  If you are interested and would like more information please call 681-2860.
