Cornerstone Baptist Church in Thief River Falls will have Bible School from 9:30am-12 noon today through Thursday the 20th. Children ages 5-12 can enjoy bible stories, snacks, games, crafts and more! Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left). On June 22nd, the longest day of the year, thousands of people will join together to show their support for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Five events will be sponsored in Thief River Falls this week, starting on Tuesday, June 18th at Oakland Park. They will be hosting an Ice Cream social from 1:30-3:30pm; music will be provided by Bob Haring from 2-3pm, a freewill offering will be collected. On Wednesday Valley Home will be “Grilling for the Minds” from 5-7pm. $1 from each plate purchased will go towards the Alzheimer’s Association. Later in the week events will be held at Greenleaf, Thief River Care Center and Hartz Park.
Don’t miss the TRF Kiwanis Picnic in the Park on Tuesday, June 18th from 5-7pm at Northrop Park. They will be serving hot dogs, chips, dessert and a drink; a free will donation is included. Proceeds will go towards Northrop Park.
All are welcome to the Community Input Session on the future of the old city auditorium on Tuesday, June 18th. There will be an Old Auditorium Viewing/Visit from 6-7pm at the auditorium and a Community Input Session from7-8:30pm at the new Justice Center to discuss developing a plan for the future of the auditorium.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls. This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups. The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony. There will be an “Art and Wine Walk” in downtown Thief River Falls on Thursday, June 20th. Registration is from 4:30 – 6pm; prizes and wine glass give-a-way is at 8pm. Businesses will be open until 8 pm and 20 businesses will have wine to taste and an appetizer to sample; art by area artists will be displayed in each of the participating businesses. Get 12 stamps and you can be entered for prize giveaways. The walk starts at the parking lot of the Carnegie and ends at the parking lot of the VFW; the cost is $15 to pre-register and $20 at the door.
