On June 22nd, the longest day of the year, thousands of people will join together to show their support for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Several events will be sponsored in Thief River Falls this week. On Friday the Thief River Care Center is serving pulled pork meals and music from 4-8pm. And on Saturday, it’s the Longest Day Walk; it starts at 10am at the top of Hartz Park, and activities include a silent auction, a picnic, and fun until 1pm.
The TRF Farmer’s Market is now open for the 2019 season on Thursdays in the Floyd B. Olson/Gazebo Park from 4:30-7pm and on Saturdays from 9-noon. You’ll find vegetables, baked/canned goods, jellies and jams, honey, potted plants, tea, salsa, crafts and so much more!
There is a multi-party Flea Market/Rummage Sale in the TRF Evangelical Covenant Church parking lot on Saturday, June 22nd from 8am-2pm. All proceeds from space and table rental and the food stand will support missions. For more information call Nikki at 681-4449.
There will be a benefit for Michelle Chaplinski on Saturday, June 22nd at the Middle River American Legion; they will be serving a freewill donation BBQ Sandwich Supper from 5-7:30pm. The evening’s activities include games, a bag raffle, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, a live auction and more! The Middle River Community Theater presents “There’s a Monster in my Closet”. Fantasy and reality collide in this eclectic and fun musical romp; find out how friendship, ingenuity, and a sprinkling of magic lead to a delightful solution to Emily’s monster problem. This entertaining youth production will be presented starting Sunday, June 23rd and will run through Tuesday, June 25th, with each evening’s show beginning at 7pm; advance tickets are available at Young’s General Store.
The Thief River Falls Community Theater is celebrating their 24th season with the second 2019 Summer Theater Production ready for your enjoyment. “Cabaret” will be presented from Tuesday, June 25th through Saturday, June 29th. All performances are at 7pm at the NCTC Theater, with Flexpass and single performance tickets available at Digi-Key; tickets will be sold nightly at the door if seating is available.
There will be a benefit for the Jason Miller family on Saturday, June 29th in St. Hilaire, hosted by Broadway Station. There is a Car Show at 11am, live music begins at 4pm plus there is a cook-out and raffle events during the day. Jason was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and has undergone several surgeries, completed radiation treatments and is currently receiving chemo. Proceeds will help the family with their expenses.
