The Middle River Farmer’s Market, located at the picnic shelter on Main Street, is open Friday afternoons from 2-5pm, featuring plants, baked goods, jellies, fruits and vegetables, farm fresh eggs, fancy work and garden décor. The Thief River Falls Community Theater is celebrating their 24th season with the second 2019 Summer Theater Production ready for your enjoyment. “Cabaret” will be presented each evening, tonight through Saturday, June 29th. All performances are at 7pm at the NCTC Theater, with Flexpass and single performance tickets available at Digi-Key; tickets will be sold nightly at the door if seating is available.
The American Legion Riders Post 444 of Middle River is hosting a Legacy Scholarship Ride on Saturday and Sunday, June 29th-30th. All riders are welcome to join, rain or shine, with registration starting at 7am at the Newfolden American Legion Memorial Site. Riders will depart from Newfolden at 8am on Saturday, stopping at several cities on their way to International Falls, which they will depart from on Sunday morning for the ride back to Middle River. The cost is $15 per person; the Legacy Scholarship Fund provides scholarship money to children of post 9/11 veterans who died on active duty or have a VA disability rating.
There will be a benefit for the Jason Miller family on Saturday, June 29th in St. Hilaire, hosted by Broadway Station. There is a Car Show at 11am, live music begins at 4pm plus there is a cook-out and raffle events during the day. Jason was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and has undergone several surgeries, completed radiation treatments and is currently receiving chemo. Proceeds will help the family with their expenses.
The TRF Farmer’s Market is now open for the 2019 season on Thursdays in the Floyd B. Olson/Gazebo Park from 4:30-7pm and on Saturdays from 9-noon. You’ll find vegetables, baked/canned goods, jellies and jams, honey, potted plants, tea, salsa, crafts and so much more!
The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year. The exhibit includes 10 original pieces of art by regional adult artists. The exhibit will be at the East Grand Forks Campbell Library from June 29th through August 31st.
Registration is now open for parade floats for the Pennington County Fair and is available online at penningtoncoutntyfair.org. Registration can be printed or submitted online, and is also available at Benton, Safranski and Company at 116 3rd Street West in Thief River Falls. Registration forms are due on Monday, July 15th at 1:00 PM.
