(Minneapolis, MN) — The Timberwolves are adding another forward to the mix. Multiple outlets report the Wolves have acquired Jake Layman in a sign-and-trade deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. They will ink him to a three-year, 11.5-million-dollar contract. The Wolves are using the trade exception they received in the Dario Saric draft-night deal with Phoenix.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Lynx are headed back out on the road for a three-game trek starting Saturday in Connecticut. They will also visit Chicago and Atlanta next week before returning home. The Lynx have won three-of-four to improve to 7-and-6 on the season.

(Blaine, MN) — The 3M Open tees off this morning at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine. The tournament, formerly the 3M Championship, changed names this year. Kenny Perry won last year’s 3M Championship.
