Two people were injured in a single vehicle accident yesterday in Hubbard County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Norman Allan Salverson, 72, of Erskine was injured when the northbound 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was driving jumped a driveway approach, struck a mailbox and landed on its side on Highway 71 in Guthrie Township.
According to the State Patrol report, a funeral procession was heading south yesterday afternoon. A semi truck with trailer moved to the shoulder for the procession, the Harley swerved around the semi to the right and entered the ditch.
Salverson was taken to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center and treated for injuries troopers at the scene describe as life threatening. A passenger was also taken to Sanford Bemidji and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Neither were wearing helmets at the time of the accident reported just before 3PM.
Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
