A Montevideo area teenager suffered serious injuries in an accident involving a DOT truck yesterday in Stevens County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Madeline Noelle Gorham, 18, was injured when the northbound 2014 Ford Taurus she was driving struck a Minnesota Department of Transportation truck on the shoulder of Highway 59 in Horton Township. According to the State Patrol report, the vehicle then entered the southbound lane and was struck by a southbound semi driven by Charles Fredrick Green, 65, of Breckenridge.
Gorham was taken to Sanford West Fargo and treated for injuries troopers at the scene describe as life threatening. Green and the driver of the DOT vehicle, Robert Eric Kloos, 53, of Morris suffered no apparent injury.
Road conditions were listed as dry and all were wearing seat-belts at the time of the accident reported just before 12:30PM.
Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
