The Red Lake Falls Lions will hold their 10th annual 5K and 10K run/walk on Saturday, July 27th. The event will be held at Voyager’s View Campground north of Red Lake Falls as part of Red lake Falls Summerfest. Pre-registration deadline for the 5K or 10K is July 15th. All proceeds from the event will be used to support Minnesota Lions Diabetes Foundation, Inc. Registration is now open for parade floats for the Pennington County Fair and is available online at penningtoncoutntyfair.org. Registration can be printed or submitted online, and is also available at Benton, Safranski and Company at 116 3rd Street West in Thief River Falls. Registration forms are due on Monday, July 15th at 1:00 PM.

The American Legion Riders Post 444 of Middle River are hosting a Legacy Scholarship Ride on Saturday, July 20th. All riders are welcome to join, rain or shine, with registration starting at 9am at the Paradise in Strathcona. Riders will depart at 10am on Saturday, riding up to Baudette and then returning to Middle River, stopping at several cities on the way back. The cost is $15 per person; the Legacy Scholarship Fund provides scholarship money to children of post 9/11 veterans who died on active duty or have a VA disability rating.
It’s that time of year again for “Thunder on Hooves Bull Ride Mutton Bustin’”, brought to you by TRF Radio. Sign up your little ones ages 4-8 yrs. that weigh less than 60 lbs. by bringing them out to the TRF Radio Station during business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Entries will be limited to 20 contestants per performance on both Friday, July 19th and Saturday, July 20th.
There will be a booth at the Pennington County Fair, on Saturday, July 20th, where you can see three preliminary designs for the old TRF City Auditorium and give your thoughts on how this building could be used in the future.
Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left). Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls. This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups. The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony. The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year. The exhibit includes 10 original pieces of art by regional adult artists. The exhibit will be at the East Grand Forks Campbell Library from June 29th through August 31st.
