The Pennington County Sportsmen’s Club is sponsoring the Northern Pike Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, July 13th; registration is from 6am-9am at the Centennial Park Shelter in TRF, the cost is $5 a fisherman. This event is for kids age 17 and under; parents or guardians must be present at registration. The derby is on the Red Lake or Thief rivers by boat, off-shore or on a dock. The Red Lake Falls Lions will hold their 10th annual 5K and 10K run/walk on Saturday, July 27th. The event will be held at Voyager’s View Campground north of Red Lake Falls as part of Red lake Falls Summerfest. Pre-registration deadline for the 5K or 10K is July 15th. Fundraiser Benefit Rummage Sale for the Ronald McDonald House of the Red River Valley will be held at the TRF Eagles Club, 305 Red Lake Blvd., today July 13th 8 am – 3pm with barbeques, chips and pop from 11am – 1:30 pm
Registration is now open for parade floats for the Pennington County Fair and is available online at penningtoncoutntyfair.org. Registration can be printed or submitted online, and is also available at Benton, Safranski and Company at 116 3rd Street West in Thief River Falls. Registration forms are due on Monday, July 15th at 1:00 PM.
The American Legion Riders Post 444 of Middle River are hosting a Legacy Scholarship Ride on Saturday, July 20th. All riders are welcome to join, rain or shine, with registration starting at 9am at the Paradise in Strathcona. Riders will depart at 10am on Saturday, riding up to Baudette and then returning to Middle River, stopping at several cities on the way back. The cost is $15 per person; the Legacy Scholarship Fund provides scholarship money to children of post 9/11 veterans who died on active duty or have a VA disability rating.
The TRF Farmer’s Market is now open for the 2019 season on Thursdays in the Floyd B. Olson/Gazebo Park from 4:30-7pm and on Saturdays from 9-noon. You’ll find vegetables, baked/canned goods, jellies and jams, honey, potted plants, tea, salsa, crafts and so much more!
It’s that time of year again for “Thunder on Hooves Bull Ride Mutton Bustin’”, brought to you by TRF Radio. Sign up your little ones ages 4-8 yrs. that weigh less than 60 lbs. by bringing them out to the TRF Radio Station during business hours, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Entries will be limited to 20 contestants per performance on both Friday, July 19th and Saturday, July 20th.
