Minnesota State Patrol Continues To Answer Questions Surrounding “Hands Free” Cell Phone Law

The Minnesota State Patrol continues to answer questions surrounding the so called “hands free” law, which goes into effect next month.

Since Governor Walz signed the hands-free bill in April, motorists across the state have been reaching out to the Department of Public Safety with many frequently asked questions.

According to preliminary numbers from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, more than 60 thousand collisions were distracted driving-related from 2014 to 2018, and contributed to nearly one in five crashes in Minnesota.
