Bruce Parnham, 70 formerly of Thief River Falls, MN passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 21, 2019 in Thursten County, WA.

Bruce Allen Parnham was born August 25, 1948 in Thief River Falls, MN to Anna Grace (Israelson) and James LeRoy Parnham. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. Bruce grew up in Thief River Falls, MN and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966.

In 1966 he married Susan Gillespie and two boys were born to this union, Tim and Jim.

He worked for Detroiter Mobile Home Manufacturing in Red Lake Falls, he farmed and raised hogs, built and operated Greendale Mobile Home Park, and worked for the Soo Line Railroad. After the railroad, he became interested in sailing and got his captain’s license. He then became a world traveler and sailed around the world in 8 ½ years. He spent most of his life sailing in the Caribbean. He had many years of adventures and experiences with many, many stories to tell of his life.

Bruce had an adventurous soul. During his life, he also enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, playing cribbage and our family get-togethers.

He is survived by his son Jim, Brothers: Ken (Rita) Parnham, Belle Plaine, MN; Jerry Parnham, The Philippines, Sister: Nancy (Tom) Issendorf, Thief River Falls, MN; Aunt: Bernie Netteland, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son Tim, Parents:  Anna Gillespie, James Leroy Parnham, Allen B. Tonder, and Grandparents: Agnes and Emmett Israelson, Vera and Francis Parnham.

There will be a celebration of life held for Bruce Parnham from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the American Legion, 324 Brooks Avenue North, Thief River Falls, MN. Please join us and celebrate Bruce’s life. Private burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
