The U.S.S. Marshall County Veteran’s Program and Military Show will be presented on Saturday, July 27th at the fairgrounds in Warren. Breakfast will be served at 8am, followed by a Veteran’s Program in the grandstand from 10am-11am and a Military Show from 11am-1pm. They’ll bring back the style of the USO with performances featuring Dave Boyer and the Classic Swing Band.
It’s the 3rd Annual Freedom Festival in the Goodridge Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, July 27th. The Freedom Fun Run registration starts at 8:30am and they’ll have crafters & vendors, bouncy houses, a rock climbing wall, kid’s inflatable archery, face painting, dunking stand, plus many more great activities for you to enjoy. Food vendors include Baker St. Sales, Wallace’s Kettle Corn, the Goodridge Cenex Café, SAP Kitchen and LHS students serving ice cream. There’s a great line up of events, including live music, a parade at 1:00 pm, a live auction, a beer garden and so much more. You’ll find something fun for everyone.
The TRF Farmer’s Market is now open for the 2019 season on Thursdays in the Floyd B. Olson/Gazebo Park from 4:30-7pm and on Saturdays from 9-noon. You’ll find vegetables, baked/canned goods, jellies and jams, honey, potted plants, tea, salsa, crafts and so much more!
Come and support the Middle River area youth and Sunday Schools at “Burger Night” on Wednesday, July 31st from 5-7pm at the American Legion in Middle River. Proceeds will go towards Pathways Vacation Bible School that will be held locally August 5th-8th.
The Thief River Falls Community Theater is celebrating their 24th season with the fourth 2019 Summer Theater Production ready for your enjoyment. “The Music Man” will be presented Wednesday, July 31st through Friday, August 2nd. All performances are at 7pm at the NCTC Theater, with Flexpass and single performance tickets available at Digi-Key; tickets will be sold nightly at the door if seating is available.
A benefit for Jeremy Johnson will be held Thursday, August 1st from 4-8 pm at the Eagles Club in TRF. They will be serving pulled pork on a bun; activities include a bake sale, a silent and live auction, a raffle, and a free will offering. Jeremy is undergoing chemo treatment at the University of Minnesota following 2 earlier surgeries for Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the tongue and will be staying in Minneapolis for about 8 weeks. A benefit fund has been set up in Jeremy’s name at Northern State Bank in Thief River Falls; make checks payable to Jeremy Johnson Benefit and drop off or mail to the bank.
