There will be a benefit for Joy & Randy Knutson on Tuesday, August 6th from 4:30 – 7:30 pm in the Newfolden Community Center. They will be serving Taco in a Bag, with a bake sale and silent auction held during the evening. Randy has been battling Multiple Myeloma Bone Cancer, and Joy has been diagnosed with stage 4 Stomach Cancer. Proceeds will go to defray medical expenses and travel costs for treatment. The Annual Thief River Falls Community Block Party “Night to Unite” will be held at Peder Engelstad Pioneer Village on Tuesday, August 6th from 5-7 pm. They will have free hot dogs, chips and watermelon, door prizes and live entertainment that includes the Northland Community Band performing at 5:00 pm and the Cathy Erickson Band at 5:45 pm.
The Thief River Falls school district will be holding its annual Fall Parent/Athlete/Coach meeting on Wednesday, August 7th at 7pm in the high school auditorium. Any 6th through 12th grade athlete that plans on playing a fall sport this year needs to be in attendance, along with one of their parents. Individual team meetings will follow the PAC meeting.
Come out and support your local EMS at the Tri-County EMS/Middle River Summer Block Party at 5pm on Thursday, August 8th behind the Middle River American Legion. Activities during the evening include a free-will offering picnic supper, bag raffles, a bouncy house, beach volleyball and FUN!

The St. Hilaire Lions are holding their annual St. Hilaire Lions Redneck Round-A-Bout Island Park Baja Race on Saturday, August 10th; races start at 4:30pm at Island Park in St. Hilaire. Free overnight camping is available in the pits; there will be a tailgater’s area at the race, concessions and a beer garden; grandstand admission is $10 and kids are $6. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls. This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups. The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony.
