There is a Retirement Reception honoring Judge Kurt J. Marben on Friday, August 9th from 2-4pm in Courtroom 1 at the Pennington County Justice Center in Thief River Falls.

A Benefit Fundraiser for Evan Foster will be held on Friday, August 9th from 5-8pm at the Greenbush Community Center.  They will have a Freewill Donation Spaghetti Supper, dollar and silent auction baskets and a concert from the “Popple Ridge Pickers”.  Proceeds will help defray medical expenses.

The NW Ducks Unlimited Banquet will be held on Friday, August 16th at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Thief River Falls; the doors open at 5:30pm with dinner at 7pm.  The early-bird ticket deadline is Friday, August 9th, after that the price increases by $10.  Get your tickets early for a seat, special raffle and early-bird drawings.  For more information call Rick at 686-4707 or go to www.ducks.org/Minnesota events.

The St. Hilaire Lions are holding their annual St. Hilaire Lions Redneck Round-A-Bout Island Park Baja Race on Saturday, August 10th; races start at 4:30pm at Island Park in St. Hilaire.  Free overnight camping is available in the pits; there will be a tailgater’s area at the race, concessions and a beer garden; grandstand admission is $10 and kids are $6.  For more information go to www.sthilairebaja.com.

Nexus Church and the Thief River Falls Evangelical Free Church invite you to their “Back to School Family Night” on Wednesday, August 14th from 6-8pm at Challenger Elementary School; this is a FREE event for all families.  There will be free gently used clothes, packages filled school supplies, hot dogs and pop, face painting, cotton candy, inflatables, dunk tank and more!  Please park on the north (back) parking lot; school supplies and clothes will be in the gym, games and food will be in the west field.

The TRF Farmer’s Market is now open for the 2019 season on Thursdays in the Floyd B. Olson/Gazebo Park from 4:30-7pm and on Saturdays from 9-noon.  You’ll find vegetables, baked/canned goods, jellies and jams, honey, potted plants, tea, salsa, crafts and so much more!
