The St. Hilaire Lions are holding their annual St. Hilaire Lions Redneck Round-A-Bout Island Park Baja Race on Saturday, August 10th; races start at 4:30pm at Island Park in St. Hilaire.  Free overnight camping is available in the pits; there will be a tailgater’s area at the race, concessions and a beer garden; grandstand admission is $10 and kids are $6.  For more information go to www.sthilairebaja.com.

TRF Lions are hosting a Picnic In The Park, Tuesday, August 13th from 5-7 pm in Lions Park Nora Street East.  Free will donation for Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and a drink.  Stop out and see the new playground equipment the Lions donated $26,000 to purchase.

Nexus Church and the Thief River Falls Evangelical Free Church invite you to their “Back to School Family Night” on Wednesday, August 14th from 6-8pm at Challenger Elementary School; this is a FREE event for all families.  There will be free gently used clothes, packages filled school supplies, hot dogs and pop, face painting, cotton candy, inflatables, dunk tank and more!  Please park on the north (back) parking lot; school supplies and clothes will be in the gym, games and food will be in the west field.

The TRF Farmer’s Market is now open for the 2019 season on Thursdays in the Floyd B. Olson/Gazebo Park from 4:30-7pm and on Saturdays from 9-noon.  You’ll find vegetables, baked/canned goods, jellies and jams, honey, potted plants, tea, salsa, crafts and so much more!

Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year.  The exhibit includes 10 original pieces of art by regional adult artists.  The exhibit will be at the East Grand Forks Campbell Library through August 31st.
