Its a busy time of the year in the wooded areas of Northwest Minnesota.
According to the DNR’s weekly conservation officers reports, bear baiting has begun in anticipation of the up coming hunting season.
Thief River Falls Conservation Officer Jeremy Woinarowicz reports he is monitoring the start of bear-baiting activities. He says enforcement action this week included “failure to register a bear bait as required,” and “baiting bear without a valid license.”
Minnesota hunting regulations can be found on the DNR’s website.
