The 11th Annual NCH Trails to Treatment Cancer Benefit and Ride will be held on Saturday, August 31st in Middle River.  This event will be dedicated to the memory of Barb Geer, TTT Committee member from 2013-2019.  Events will start at 8:00 am on Saturday, August 31st.  Visit www.northcountryhorsemen.com for a list of scheduled events.

The Pennington County Humane Society invites everyone to their Burger Fundraiser this Saturday, August 31st at the TRF American Legion from 11am-2pm.  Proceeds directly benefit the Pennington County Humane Society shelter animals.

The Fall 2019 TRF High School Clay Target Registration is now open to FMS and LHS students in grades 6-12 who have successfully completed the Hunter Firearm Safety Program and have a Minnesota State Approved Firearm Safety Certificate.  The season dates are September 8th-October 24th; the sign-up deadline is September 6th.  If you have questions please call Marty Peterson at 218-686-5621.

You are invited to the 2019 Newfest Celebration in Newfolden; this year’s festivities will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 6th-8th.  It all starts on Friday with both Wojo’s Rodeo and the 6th Annual Newfolden Fire Department’s Grinding Wheel Trail Run beginning at 6pm.  On Saturday the parade is at 11:30am with events for the whole family during the day, including  a flea market, silent auction, tractor pull, corn hole tournament, bingo, kids games and Wojo’s Rodeo again at 6pm.  On Sunday there will be a Lion’s Brunch from 9am-1pm at the Community Center.  Come and enjoy the live music and food vendors all weekend, there’s fun for everyone.

You can run in the Digi-Key Cares Digi-Dash 3K/5K/10K Run on Saturday, September 14th.  The entry fee is $25 on the day of the race; kids under 10 are free and the family max is $50.  Registration on the day is at 8am in the Digi-Key west parking lot.  New this year is the pre-race Stretch with Rehab Authority and Cross Fit Great North at 8:25am.

The TRF Farmer’s Market is now open for the 2019 season on Thursdays in the Floyd B. Olson/Gazebo Park from 4:30-7pm and on Saturdays from 9-noon.  You’ll find vegetables, baked/canned goods, jellies and jams, honey, potted plants, tea, salsa, crafts and so much more!

The Middle River Farmer’s Market, located at the picnic shelter on Main Street, is open Friday afternoons from 2-5pm, featuring plants, baked goods, jellies, fruits and vegetables, farm fresh eggs, fancy work and garden décor.  For questions contact Debbie at 222-3540 or Emily at 222-3556, and you can also find them on Facebook.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year.  The exhibit includes 10 original pieces of art by regional adult artists.  The exhibit will be at the Ada Public Library Sept. 1st through Nov. 2nd..

Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls.  This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups.  The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony.  Nursery is provided, as well as a celebration place for elementary aged children.
