Bid Approved For River Crossing South of Thief River Falls

A bid has been approved for a portion of the Mark Boulevard Bridge project.

The Pennington County Board of Commissioners approved the bid for the river crossing portion of the project Tuesday at the Justice Center in Downtown Thief River Falls.
County Engineer Mike Flaagan says the new bid comes after the project was divided into smaller projects. The County had received no bids when the project consisted of two roundabouts, and the river crossing.

Construction for the planned crossing south of Thief River Falls is planned for 2020. The County is still waiting on the Minnesota Department of Transportation before moving forward with the roundabout planned for Highway 32.

Flaagan says the east side roundabout is still in the design phase.

In other Highway Department news, Flaagan says crack sealing and gravel crushing projects for 2019 are now complete.
