Marsha Vicente, 67 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls with her loving family at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, September 16, 2019 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN, with Father Rick Lambert presiding.  Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Prayer Service on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.  Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at the church.

Marsha Ann Jorde was born November 13, 1951 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Glen and Donna (Bergland) Jorde. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She attended Washington Elementary School, Franklin Middle School and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1969.

Following high school, Marsha went to work at Arctic Cat from 1969-1976. She then went to the Medical Institute of Minnesota for Veterinary Medical Technician from 1976-1977.  From 1977-1991 Marsha worked at Gilbertson Animal Hospital in East Grand Forks, MN.

In 1991, Marsha moved to Anchorage, Alaska to be closer to her sister, Susie and her future husband, Rick Vicente. She continued to work as a vet tech. Following Rick’s retirement in 1994, the couple moved to Thief River Falls and Marsha married the love of her life, Rick at Abundant Life Lutheran Church in July of 1996. Marsha felt it important to convert to Catholicism so she and Rick could be together in their faith. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls and Marsha went to work at Digi-Key in 1995. She enjoyed her time there and made many good friends. Marsha continued to work there until ill health forced her to retire.

She loved animals, spending time with her nieces, nephews and kids, gardening, fishing, traveling, being outdoors and spending time with her family. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling, curling and playing softball. Having grown up on the farm, Marsha had a good work ethic. She had a big heart and would do anything for anybody or any animal.

Marsha was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls.

Survivors include her loving husband, Rick; father, Glen; children, Gary (Margie) Vicente and their children, Haley & Sierra, Stacy (Jeff) McBride and their daughter, Jadyn, and Robin (Rick Alba) Lamb and her children, Andrew & Nolan; siblings, Susie (John) Martz and their children, Josh, Nathan & Bridget, Randy (Cory) Jorde and their children, Katie, Samantha & Mikkel, Lucy (Ron) Boeger and their children, Cade, Ryann & Chance, Penny (Reggie) Harder and their children, Hans & Annah; 21 great nieces & nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Donna in 1997; grandparents; and infant sister, Darcy Jill.
