Bid Approved For Another Portion of the Mark Boulevard Bridge Project

A bid was approved this week for another portion of the Mark Boulevard Bridge Project.

Pennington Commissioners approved the low bid for the Highway 32 roundabout, at their regular meeting Tuesday at the Justice Center in Downtown Thief River Falls. County Engineer Mike Flaagan says the bid from Zavoral and Sons Construction came in at $2,549,998.43.

He says construction on a bypass between Highway 32 and Brodin’s will likely start this fall before roundabout construction early next year. He says work on the river crossing portion of the project may start as early as October, with the roundabout planned for the east side of the project still in the design phase.

He also says a former residence on property purchased by the county has yet to be demolished.
