Two people were injured, one seriously in a single vehicle accident yesterday in Itasca County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Bryce Michael Firth, 23, was injured when the westbound 2010 Dodge Avenger he was driving left Highway 2 at Itasca County Road 71, in Blackberry Township, and struck a tree.
According to the State Patrol report, Firth was taken to Saint Luke’s Hospital and treated for injuries troopers at the scene describe as life threatening. A passenger, Alicia Joan Schulz, 22, of Plymouth, was taken to Grand Itasca Health Care Facility, and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Both were wearing seat-belts at the time of the accident, reported just before 11:30AM.
Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
