Alcohol Was An Apparent Factor in Cass County Motorcycle Accident


Officials say a motorcyclist had been consuming alcohol before he was injured in an accident over the weekend in Cass County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Leo Andrew East, 23, of Hackensack, was injured when the southbound 2009 Yamaha Motorcycle he was driving struck the rear driver’s side of a northbound SUV on a curve of Highway 84 near Glenmar Drive Northeast in Wabedo Township. East was taken to Saint Cloud Hospital and treated for injuries troopers at the scene describe as non-life threatening. The driver of the SUV, and two young passengers suffered no apparent injury.

Road conditions were listed as dry and East was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident reported just after 2AM Saturday.

According to the State Patrol report, East had been consuming alcohol prior to the crash.
