The Arctic Adventure Scholastic Book Fair will be open at Franklin Middle School today, through the morning of Wednesday, October 16th.  It will be available for students to shop on school days from 7:45am-3:45pm.  For anyone in the community, the extended hours on October 15th, from 4pm-8pm during Parent-Teacher Conferences, will allow you to check out the book fair as well.

The Thief River Falls Volunteer Fire Department will be serving a Ham Dinner from 4:30pm-7:30pm on Monday, October 14th at the Eagles Club.  The menu includes ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable and bun; a Freewill Offering will be collected.  Proceeds will be used to purchase new safety equipment.

The Thief River Falls Archery Club is offering the 2019 Instructional Archery League, with 6 weeks of instruction every Thursday, starting October 17th through November 21st from 3:30pm to 5:30pm each night at the new Indoor Range at the Pennington County Fairgrounds.  Learn safety in the range, how to shoot and improve your archery skills.  The cost is $20 and is limited to the first 20 archers to sign up.  Bring your own equipment or the Club will provide, no experience necessary.  For more information contact Dana Klos at 689-7376.

St. John Lutheran School is sponsoring a Supper Fundraiser from 4:30pm-7pm on Thursday, October 17th at St. John’s Church in Thief River Falls.  The menu includes chicken, potatoes, veggie, coleslaw, bun and dessert.  This is a free will offering fundraiser with a suggested donation of $8 per plate.

Redeemer and Zion Lutheran Churches of Thief River Falls are offering a Service of Evening Prayer for the farming community on Thursday, October 17th at 7pm at Redeemer Lutheran Church.  This event is open to the community and all are welcome to attend.

Enjoy an afternoon of fellowship and fun at noon on Tuesday, October 22nd at the American Legion in Thief River Falls. Come and hear Cindy Ellingson as she shares with you how to spin your own yarn.  Carlotta Rasmussen, from Jamestown, will talk about “How a Broken Life can be Re-purposed”, and Sarah Dahlin, from Thief River Falls, will bring her musical gifts. It’s the 10th Annual Deer Hunter’s Roundup on Friday, October 18th at the Middle River American Legion.  The evening’s events begin at 6:30pm, with lunch at 7pm.

Bethany Lutheran Church of Red Lake Falls is having a Bethany Smorgasbord from 4:30pm-7:30pm on Saturday, October 19th at the church.  The cost is adults/$15 and children under 12 years/$5.  For deliveries call 218-253-2589.

The Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a Breakfast and Raffle Drawing on Sunday, October 20th at St. Joseph Church Holy Family Center in Red Lake Falls.  They will be serving French toast, ham, and beverages from 9am-12:30pm; a free will offering will be collected with proceeds to support various KC projects.

Rev. Gary Jorgenson, currently serving as Assistant to the President of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations, will be holding Special Meetings at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls on Sunday, October 20th, through Wednesday, October 23rd, with evening services beginning at 7pm.  His theme will be “Project Peter”, a series focused on the spiritual growth of the Apostle Peter.

Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 1-6pm and every Thursday from 11am-4:30pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St.. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls.  This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups.  The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony.  Nursery is provided, as well as a celebration place for elementary aged children.
