Sharon L. Iverson, 78, of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2019 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND with her loving husband, daughters, grandchildren & great-grandchildren by her side.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a 5:00 PM prayer service on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN. The funeral service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 4, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Rev. John Voelker officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
Sharon Lee Miller was born on November 27, 1940 in Thief River Falls, MN the daughter of Morris and Signe (Sjulestad) Miller. She was baptized and confirmed at Reiner Free Lutheran Church, rural Goodridge, MN. She attended country school and graduated from Goodridge High School with the class of 1958. As a graduation gift, Sharon received a diamond ring from the love of her life, Leon Iverson.
On December 6, 1958, the couple were united in marriage at the parsonage in Goodridge by Rev. A.B. Heltne. They made their home in Thief River Falls and to this union three children were born, Rosalee, Roxanne and Rhonda. In 1966, the family made their home in Goodridge and in 1973 they moved onto the Iverson Family Farm which they owned and operated.
Sharon worked at Parkin’s Corner Drug for a short time but when her daughters were born she made raising her girls her priority. She also worked at the Goodridge School and Goodridge Café for a time.
Sharon loved her vegetable and flower gardens, she sewed all of her daughter’s clothes, she loved baking and cooking for the holidays and family gatherings, knitting, crocheting, painting, Norwegian rosemaling and was very artistic ~ she was the original Martha Stewart. Her music was very important to her, Sharon played by ear the piano, accordion and organ. Sharon was a quiet woman who enjoyed being home with family around her.
In the early family years, she enjoyed snowmobiling on weekends with the Goodridge Snowmobile Club. They belonged to Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Circle. After moving back to Thief River Falls have been members of Trinity Lutheran Church, and were members of Dance Club and Card Club.
Survivors include her loving husband of almost 61 years, Leon; daughters, Rosie Dahlen, Roxanne (LeRoy) Iverson-Boice all of Thief River Falls and Rhonda (Ryan) Haugen of Roseau, MN; grandchildren, Robby (Holly) Dahlen, Jamie (Todd) Nohl, Lindsay (Andy) Paulson, Rozlynn (Brad) Johnsrud, Jena (Cliff) Johnsrud; great-grandchildren, Henry, Eden, Dawson Joel, Otto & Baer Nohl, Bo, Tanner & Lauren Paulson, Jordynn, Donny & Jennings Johnsrud, Carter Lee & Cash Johnsrud; siblings, Delores Keim, Edgar (Dorothy) Miller, Marilyn LaCoursiere, Richard (Judy) Miller, Norman (Sharon) Miller, Judy (Richard) Anderson, Joyce (Larry) Geer, Morrie (Mary) Miller, Gene (Kari) Miller; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Harold) Skreland, Judy Briski, Sharon Ann Iverson and Susan Iverson; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents; son-in-law, Joel Dahlen; brothers-in-law, Arnold Keim, Dick LaCoursiere, Conrad Iverson and Allen Iverson.
