Funeral services for Vivian Jacobson, 94, of Karlstad, MN., who passed away Sun., Nov. 10, 2019, at the Karlstad Senior Living Center in Karlstad, will be held at 10 A.M. Wed., Nov. 13, at the First Lutheran Church in Karlstad with Pastor Caitlin Jensen officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wed. morning at the church.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Lake Bronson, MN.

Vivian Ruth Jacobson, the daughter of the late Carl and  Mabel (Davis) Ryden, was born Dec. 12, 1924 on the family farm near Kennedy.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Donaldson, MN.  She attended school at Donaldson and Kennedy.  On June 7, 1944, she was united in marriage to Elwood Norman Jacobson of Lake  Bronson, MN.  They were married at Teien Lutheran Church near Drayton, ND.  They farmed near Pelan for several years and later farmed east of Karlstad in Arveson Township.  They lived in different locations following Elwood’s work with Land O’Lakes.  They lived in Thief River Falls, Alexandria, Oakes, ND, Fosston and Roseau.  They retired to Karlstad in 1985.  Vivian was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Karlstad American Legion Auxiliary.  Vivian moved to the Meadows in 2012 and to Karlstad Senior Living Oct. 2, 2019.  She enjoyed reading and making afghans and giving them away.

She is survived by one daughter, Diane (Ken) Lund of   Florence, CO; and one son, Wayne (Corienne) Jacobson of Karlstad; 4 grandchildren: Jason, Matthew, Kelly and Andrew Lund; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons; one brother-in-law, Steve & Jeanne Jacobson of Bismarck, ND; one sister-in-law, Shirley Bronson, Karlstad; and several  nieces and nephews.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband,   Elwood in 2013 after 69 years of marriage; brothers: Davis, Robert, Carlton, Harris, Axel, Evan & Orville; and sisters:  Melba, Carol, Annabelle & Marriel.

Vivian was a very caring wife, mother and grandmother who valued her family as priceless.
