Scott Wilson, 60, Walhalla, ND formerly of Newfolden, MN passed away suddenly at his residence on Sunday, November 17, 2019.
The funeral to celebrate Scott’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 25, 2019 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN with Pastor Ollie Urdahl officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery, New Solum Township, Marshall County, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Scott Alan Wilson was born July 16, 1959 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls, MN the son of Boyd and Darlene (Dengerud) Wilson. Scott attended Viking Elementary School and Newfolden High School, earning his GED in 1987.
On May 10, 1980, Scott was united in marriage to Jean Asp at the Assembly of God Church in Thief River Falls, MN. To this union three sons were born, Jesse, Nicholas and Matthew. They lived for a short time in Thief River Falls before moving to Enid, OK where Scott went to work in the oil fields.
In the summer of 1986, the family returned to live in the Newfolden, MN area. Scott worked several places in the area including, Wedul/Prowler Express, Hartz Truck Line, became self-employed as Wilson Truck Line and later at Northstar Transport.
In the summer of 1992, Scott was baptized emersion in Thief River Falls.
For the last several years, Scott has lived in Walhalla, ND. He did seasonal work between Frost Fire Park, the Walhalla Airport and especially enjoyed his work for Longtin Farms.
He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting, and getting together with his family and friends.
Survivors include his sons, Jesse (Kelsi) Wilson of Newfolden, Nicholas (Cassie) Wilson of Thief River Falls and Matthew Wilson of Thief River Falls; grandchildren, Brooklynn, Ayden, Sophia, Logan, Caleb, Amelia, Grace, Paxton and Isabel; siblings, Marvin (Brenda) Wayne of Willmar, MN, Margaret “Mugs” (Hal) McCullough of Hanover, KS, Larry Wayne of Drake, CO, Lori Anderson of Denver, CO, and John Wilson of Newfolden, MN; and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
