St. John Lutheran School is hosting a Fall Dinner and Lefse Sale from 4:30pm to 7pm on Thursday, November 21st at St. John Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.  The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, all the trimmings, and dessert.  A free will offering will be taken in support of the school.  Fresh lefse will be sold hot off the griddle in addition to pre-made packages that will be sold during the dinner.

The Middle River Community Club meeting has a change of date.  The November meeting will be held on Thursday, November 21st at 7pm at the Spruce Valley Community Center.  A summary of the Goose Festival and plans for the upcoming year will be on the agenda.

The Community Church International of Thief River Falls is hosting the event “I Saw the Lord” on Thursday, November 21st through Sunday the 24th.  A Children’s Ministry for ages 6 years up to 6th grade will be available all three nights and a Preschool and Toddler’s Ministry will also be available those nights plus on Saturday and Sunday mornings.  You can stay after the evening services for soup, sandwiches and specialty coffees.   Services start Thursday at 7pm, run throughout the day on Friday and Saturday and end with Evening Services on Sunday.

The St. Hilaire Lion’s Club is holding “A Day of Community Service” at the Community Center in St. Hilaire on Friday, November 22nd from 1:30pm to 6pm.  It will include a Blood Drive, a KidSight Vision Screening, a Diabetes screening, and collections of aluminum cans, pop tops, eyeglasses, and pill bottles.  For more information call Dan at 688-2699.

The Marshall County Driftskippers and Chapman Vintage Snowmobiles are sponsoring their 8th Annual Vintage Snowmobile Show and Swap on Saturday, November 23rd on Main Street in front of the Hobo Haus in Newfolden.  Registration begins at 11am inside the Hobo Haus; there is no cost to swappers or exhibitors.  All makes, models and KIDS are welcome; awards will be presented about 4pm.  The grill is open and if there is snow they will ride!

There will be a Spaghetti Supper Benefit for Laura Dahl on Saturday, November 23rd from 4-7:30pm at the Middle River American Legion; a freewill donation will be collected.  The Live Auction and Silent Auction begin at 7pm; other activities during the evening include a Bag Raffle, Cup Drawing, 50/50, a Gun Raffle, and games.  Laura is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, please consider supporting her medical treatment.  For questions call Kristi Westlund at 686-7440 or Marlene Peterson at 686-5726.

The Rindahl Lutheran Church’s Fall Supper will be held on Saturday, November 23rd from 4:30-7:30pm at the Viking Elementary School in Viking.  They will be serving hot pork sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable side, and an apple crisp or pumpkin dessert.  Admission is a free will offering; activities include a silent auction, a log cabin quilt raffle and live music by the Rindahl Sunday School.

The St. Hilaire Lion’s Club and the St. Hilaire Community Club are hosting a Pancake Breakfast Benefit for Mike Kruse from 9am-1pm on Sunday, November 24th at the Community Center in St. Hilaire.  There will also be a Silent Auction, a Bake Sale, and raffle tickets for sale; prizes will be drawn at 1pm.  Mike was injured in a work accident and is paralyzed from the waist down; the benefit will help with medical and traveling expenses.

Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and every Thursday from 3:00-6:00 pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.
