Republican Representative Deb Kiel, Crookston. will attend the signing ceremony of the U.S.-China trade agreement in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday. The agreement encompasses reforms in the areas of agriculture, intellectual property, technology transfer, financial services, currency and foreign exchange.
The Phase 1 agreement was finalized last month, It is now expected to boost Chinese purchases of farm, energy, and manufactured goods. It should also cut tariffs. According to the White House, the agreement will lead to a major expansion of U.S. food and agriculture exports.
