On the evening of 01/09/20, a Red Lake County deputy went to a residence in Red Lake Falls to conduct a welfare check on some children that were staying at the house. While at the residence, an adult female reported that she was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend earlier that day. He was not at the residence at the time of the report. Later the same evening, Red Lake County deputies located the suspect, Samuel Paul Scott (30) of Fertile, at a residence in Oklee. Samuel Scott was arrested and taken to the jail in Crookston. He was booked for misdemeanor domestic assault. He appeared in Court in Crookston on 01/10/20 and was released from custody on the condition to have contact with the victim. Samuel Scott’s next court appearance was scheduled for 01/15/20 in Red Lake Falls.
On the afternoon of 01/10/20, a Red Lake County deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on Main Ave. in Red Lake Falls because the driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license. The driver attempted to elude the deputy by making several turns and traveling through alleyways at a high rate of speed in the residential neighborhoods on the south side of Red Lake Falls. The vehicle finally came to a stop on Main Ave. The driver of this vehicle was Abby Lee Mosbeck (38) of Red Lake Falls. When she exited her car, she struck the deputy in the face. The deputy was not injured and other deputies arrived on the scene and assisted in her apprehension. Abby Mosbeck was arrested and taken to the jail in Crookston. She was booked with felony fleeing in a motor vehicle, assaulting a peace officer, several misdemeanor traffic-related violations and possession of a small amount of marijuana. She appeared in Court in Crookston on 01/13/20 and was held on $200 cash bond. On 01/15/20, Abby Mosbeck posted bond and was released from custody. Her next court appearance is scheduled for 01/22/20 in Red Lake Falls.
