Red Lake County blotter report 2nd half

In the early morning hours of 01/11/20, Red Lake County deputies were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at a home in Lake Pleasant Township. When the 1st deputy arrived, he found an adult male lying on the floor. This male had a severe laceration to his head and was bleeding. The deputy rendered First-Aid to the victim and contacted the Red Lake Falls Ambulance so they could respond to provide assistance. The male victim was transported to the Sanford ER in Thief River Falls. The Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating this incident.

On the afternoon of 01/14/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of illegal dumping in the city of Red Lake Falls. That report is still under investigation.

On the morning of 01/15/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a traffic crash at the intersection of Hwy. #59 and Hwy. #92 in Brooks. Red Lake County law enforcement officers responded to the scene and found that a semi-truck pulling a trailer, driven by Roger Dale Opdahl (61) of Brooks, was making a right-hand turn onto Hwy. #92 and a southbound pickup, driven by Ralph Marvin Landman (55) of Roseau, ran into the back of the trailer. Both of the involved vehicles were damaged, but there were no injuries. Snow covered roadways and decreased visibility from the blowing snow were the main factors that contributed to the crash.

On the morning of 01/15/20, the Oklee Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle on fire on 2nd Ave. in Oklee. The Oklee Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the burning car. The vehicle was severely damaged, but there were no injuries reported.

On the afternoon of 01/16/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle failing to stop for a school bus stop arm on Main Ave. in Red Lake Falls. That report is still under investigation
