News Release 02-14-20
On 02/06/20, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft of some check blanks. The reporting party claimed the checks were forged and deposited into an unauthorized account. That case is currently under investigation.
On 02/07/20, a formal criminal complaint was filed, charging Sheila Marie Kramer (40) of Red Lake Falls with two counts of felony assault. The criminal complaint alleges Ms. Kramer, in the early morning hours of 01/11/20, at her residence in Lake Pleasant Township, struck her husband in the head with a glass and metal lantern. This caused a deep laceration, damaging an artery, resulting in extreme blood loss. The first responding deputy provided medical aid and was able to control the bleeding until the Red Lake Falls ambulance was able to transport him to the ER in Thief River Falls. Ms. Kramer will be summoned to appear in Court in Red Lake Falls later this month.
On the afternoon of 02/09/20, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office reported they had arrested Preston James Busse (24) of Thief River Falls. Red Lake County held an active warrant for his arrest. Mr. Busse was turned over to Red Lake County authorities and he was taken to the jail in Crookston. He appeared in Court in Crookston on 02/10/20 and he was released from custody.
On the evening of 02/10/20, a Red Lake County deputy was dispatched to a residence in Brooks to assist in removing an unwanted person. The deputy discovered that Paul Jon Enright (49) of Vadnais Heights, MN had active arrest warrants in two counties. McLeod County and Chisago County each had misdemeanor warrants outstanding for Mr. Enright. He was taken to the jail in Crookston and will be turned over to those jurisdictions. No local charges were filed.
On the morning of 02/12/20, Devon Ann Passa (36) of Red Lake Falls was arrested for violating the terms of her supervised probation. She was taken to the jail in Crookston and remains in custody at the time of this release.
