MOORHEAD, MINN. (KFGO) – Moorhead resident Edwin Hahn has announced that he is running for the Minnesota House of Representatives for District 4A which includes the City of Moorhead and Oakport Township.
Hahn is a business owner, and has extensive experience on key issues for Moorhead, having raised more than $5 million for economic development, and led the growth of more than 200 units of workforce housing. District 4A will be an open seat in 2020, with incumbent DFL Rep. Ben Lien opting not to run for re-election in 2020.
Hahn is the co-founder of LIGHTSPRING.IO, an energy technology company. He previously worked as a project engineer at Arctic Cat, was appointed to the Thief River Falls City Council, and was the Founder of the Thief River Falls Housing Task Force. During his service on the city council and housing task force, he oversaw significant investments in local infrastructure, workforce housing, and economic development.
Hahn’s announcement comes just days after Moorhead resident Mara Morken ended her campaign for the House seat, saying she was not willing to spend the time away from her family that public office will require.
