No word on new air carrier

There is still no word from the Department of Transportation on airline carriers for Thief River Falls.

During the last city council meeting, Curt Howe said they have not heard yet from the DOt about who will receive the subsidy for air carriers. The airport authority board recommended Denver Air Connection, which proposed providing 12 round trip flights per week on a larger jet to accommodate more passengers.

Other proposals were from Air Choice One, Boutique Air and Southern Airways.

Mayor Holmer and Curt Howe are both on the Airport Authority Board and are patiently waiting to hear from the DOT. Howe said that Boutiques reliability has plummeted in January.
