Northern State Bank and the Minnesota Commerce Department is putting on a “Senior Financial Fraud” Seminar on Thursday, March 5th at 2pm at the TRF Heritage Center.  Learn how to avoid becoming a victim of financial fraud and scams that target seniors.  This event is free of charge and open to the public.

The TRF Area Community Theater is hosting the FM Opera on Thursday, March 5th at 7pm at St. Bernard’s Church in Thief River Falls.  The concert includes Operatic, Broadway and Pop musical styles.  Tickets are $10 at the door or FREE with a TRF Concert series ticket; 18 and under is FREE.

United Lutheran NALC of Bernier/Gonvick is serving a Potato Klub Supper from 4-7pm on Saturday, March 7th; a freewill offering will be collected.

There will be a benefit for Joe Violette at 5pm on Saturday, March 7th at the Red Lake Falls American Legion.  They will have a free-will offering meal with a silent and live auction during the evening.  Joe is battling Lymphoma Cancer; monetary donations can be made at Unity Bank in Red Lake Falls.

TRF Summer Baseball Registration is open for the summer of 2020.  All players from 7-8 years old to 16-18 years old are welcome to register for the upcoming season with the Thief River Falls Baseball Association.  Go to to register.

Distribution at the Thief River Falls Food Shelf is every Tuesday from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and every Thursday from 3:00-6:00 pm at the Food Shelf Building, located at 16330 150th St. NE (go south on Hwy 59 past the movie theater and turn left onto Hwy 61/150th St. it is the green building/2nd drive on the left).  Please bring your own boxes.

Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program that meets every Tuesday night at Epiphany Station in Thief River Falls.  This program is for anyone who is dealing with life’s hurts, habits or hang-ups.  The night starts at 6pm with a free meal followed by worship with a teaching or testimony.  Nursery is provided, as well as a celebration place for elementary aged children. The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year.  The exhibit includes 10 original pieces of art by regional artists.  The exhibit is currently at the Hallock Public Library through May 2nd.

Glendon and Bernice McKeever of Middle River have recently lost everything in a house fire.  A fund to assist them has been set up at Border State Bank; any donations will help them through this difficult time.

The Elevate NextGen Youth Center in Thief River Falls is open daily after school from 3pm-6pm.  It is open to all students in grades 6-12, providing a safe environment, tutoring and other programs.  Games, internet access and helpful adults will be there for all students; located at 411 North Horace Avenue in Thief River Falls.
