CO Ben Huener (Roseau) worked snowmobile and angling enforcement.

CO Aaron Larson (Baudette West) worked angling and snowmobile enforcement. The warmer weather has created slushy and wet conditions on Lake of the Woods ice roads. Violations included angling with extra lines, possessing dressed fish fillets on a special regulation lake, unattended lines, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an off-road vehicle on a grant-in-aid snowmobile trail, operating a snowmobile with non-trail use registration on a grant-in-aid snowmobile trail, no angling license, no identification on an ice shelter, no dark house/ shelter license, and no angling license in possession.

CO Jeremy Woinarowicz (Thief River Falls West) continued to conduct follow-up investigations from the past deer season and monitored area snowmobile and angling activity. Enforcement action was taken for snowmobile-registration violations.

CO Demosthenes Regas (Blackduck South) reports focusing on angling activity on special regulation lakes throughout the past week. Time was spent patrolling area snowmobile trails as snowmobile enthusiasts enjoyed possibly the last ride of the season as the recent warm weather is causing trail conditions to deteriorate. Regas reports working an ongoing timber-theft investigation and reminds the public to obtain fuel/firewood permits before scavenging firewood after logging operations. Violations encountered and addressed throughout the past week included angling with extra lines and a few overlimits of bluegills.

CO Nicholas Prachar (Blackduck North) worked snowmobile activity and wildlife-related complaints. There are still numerous fish houses on Upper Red Lake. Be sure that your fish houses are off the lake by the deadline.

CO Tom Hutchins (Crookston) reports spending the first part of this past week attending airboat training in the Winona area. Time was also spent checking anglers and completing aeration inspections. Snowmobile operators were also contacted. Various angling and snowmobile violations were encountered.

Baudette East vacant.
