North Dakota officials are releasing more information about North Dakota’s first coronavirus victim. Authorities say 93-year-old Roger Lehne died Thursday at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Fargo due to complications. According to his niece, the Navy veteran reportedly declined to be put on a ventilator so that another patients could use the critical apparatus. Lehne’s 84-year-old wife, Teresa, reportedly remains hospitalized at Sanford Health with coronavirus.
North Dakota’s coronavirus case count is approaching the one-hundred mark. Authorities say, as of yesterday, 94 cases had been confirmed. Of that number, 16 patients have been hospitalized so far. Burleigh County led the overall cases list with 28, followed by 18 in Cass County, 13 in Morton County, nine in Stark and seven in Ward counties. At last report, the fatality count stood at one. Meanwhile, Governor Burgum has expressed his belief that for every one person testing positive for coronavirus, there are probably another 10 infected people who have yet to be tested.
