There is a large project progressing in the Thief River Falls area. The project involves roundabouts, force sewer mains, storm drains and ditches. One large piece of the project is the Westside Flood Reduction Project. We spoke recently with Myron Jesme, Administrator at the Red Lake Watershed District. We asked him if the bypass would use the current ditch along 125th Avenue Northeast.
We also asked Jesme if there was a way to use the current ditch along Highway 32 that lies in between the highway and the railroad tracks.
Just south of the intersection of 140th Street Northeast and Highway 32, there is a large gully that will serve as an outlet. We asked the Red Lake Watdershed Administrator to explain the construction of the outlet.
This is our last installment on the story of the Westside Flood Reduction Project. If you would like to see more detail, including maps, of this project-check out the combined project map by searching Thief River Falls DOT Project.
