This week we have been speaking with area farmer Gabe Carlson. Most of the conversations have been about field condition or spring planting progress. Most of the businesses we once considered local are now part of a larger global economy. We asked Carlson if the COvid-19 pandemic had affected his ability to purchase fertilizer or farm chemicals.
If the economy is global, supply often ends up being local. We asked Carlson what made the difference when he and other area farmers needed the inputs necessary to get the crop into the ground.
Like most successful operations, it is a matter of teamwork and good partners that make the difference in farming. Gabe Carlson will join us for one more installment tomorrow.
