Lois was born to Leonard and Freda (Lee) Eck on October 23, 1936 in Fosston, MN. She attended grade school in Trail, MN and graduated from Gonvick, MN. On May 11, 1957 she married Orville Herbert Peterson, six children came of this union: Daniel, Bruce, Steven, Mark, Renae, and Vicki, and their family home was a farm west of Trail, MN.
Lois was a Mother and homemaker. She raised her 6 children, meeting them after school every day with a pleasant smile and her children’s favorite “after school snacks”. She loved spending the holidays with her family and parents, brought meals out to her family working in the fields, and she always made sure that no one ever went hungry, and that everyone in the family always had transportation and money.
Lois loved country-life and country-living, long walks, riding bicycle, scenic drives in Polk and Clearwater County, visiting with her sisters, Donna & Delores, playing the piano, reading the newspaper, baking, and especially spending time with her daughter, Renae Ann. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, often sneaking them $1 bills before they left for home. Lois was a tremendous example to all who met her: she was generous & kind, she was also very independent, having no debts, and she treated everyone fairly.
