Communities affected by COVID-19 are eligible for new grant funding through a series of grants offered by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety Office of Justice Programs. $8 million in new grants are available to address financial needs and other risks created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Not-for-profit agencies, local units of government, regional governance bodies, and tribal governments are eligible to apply at ojp.dps.mn.gov.
The grants support youth and young adult services including:
- Youth employment.
- Out-of-school activities.
- Youth-focused violence intervention or prevention.
- Mental health services.
- Community healing activities.
- Crime victim services related to community COVID-19 responses.
The Funds are available for expenses incurred due to the COVID-19 public health emergency from September 1 through December 30, 2020.
