Marshall County Central Schools were notified by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) of a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 in a member of the Marshall County Central community with exposure dates of October 23, October 24, and October 26, 2020.
Due to privacy concerns, the school district cannot share details about the status of the person. At this time, they have been advised to stay home and isolate. The MCC school district and the Minnesota Department of Health worked to identify and notify those who had close contact with the person who has COVID-19. According to the school district news release, the risk of exposure for other people present in the building on that date is no greater than the risk of contracting the virus in the general community.
If you or your child were not notified that you had close contact with the person, you should still monitor for symptoms of illness, but do not need to stay home unless symptoms develop. If symptoms develop, stay home and consult with your health care provider to determine if medical evaluation is needed.
