Monday, the Minnesota Department of Health began using texts for contact tracing. The texts will notify people via text that the health department will be calling.
Those who test positive for Covid-19 or have close contact with a case will receive a text message to let them know that a case interviewer will be calling to discuss their COVID-19 test results or potential exposure.
The phone number in the text will vary depending on what part of the state you live. The hope is that the texts will help people know what number to look for so more calls get answered and interviews get completed.
